The Tarot of Papus comes back to life after 110 years in a beautiful Limited Edition that accentuates its kabbalistic charm.

The Tarot of Papus was created by the renowned esoteric Gerard Encausse (La Coruña, 1865 – Paris, 1916) better known under the pseudonym Papus. The deck reflects a synthesis of esoteric ideals of the Tarot in the 17th and 18th century and was highly influential in the 19th century which are followed around the world even today. The 22 Major Arcana of Papus, for the most part, follow the descriptions of the Egyptian Tarot provided by Paul Christian in his Histoire de la Magie (Paris, 1870) while the Minor Arcana is strongly inspired by the Tarot of Etteilla.

This finely crafted limited edition of 900 was curated by Tarot Historian Giordano Berti. Berti worked with Italian artist Virginia Covoni to colorize the original black and white images, in accordance with the the alchemical-kabbalistic-astrological tradition of the Book of Formation (Sepher ha-Zohor) and the Book of Splendors (Sepher has -Zohar)

On each of the 78 cards key words are shown for divinatory meanings in both upright and reversed positions in French, Italian, English and Spanish. The cards also show Papus original corresponding Hebrew letters and Astrological signs.

Users can select from two versions; the Deluxe Edition has large format cards (approximately 6" x 3") or The Art Box Edition with smaller cards (4.7" X 2.5"). Both Packages are designed by the art designer Letizia Rivetti and produced by local Italian artisans. Both versions also come with a 10 pages leaflet in English by Tobie Graindor, with the divinatory meanings suggested by Papus.
