The Tarot of Este is a 16th century deck originally made for the Este family, the rulers of Ferrera. It is a unique collection of 16 cards that integrate different concepts from astrology to literature - from the Greek world to oriental cultures. This deck allows us to explore the world of mathematical humanism, discover ancient texts and appreciate the artistic and literary figures of the Renaissance. Produced for the marriage of Duke Ercole I d'Este and Eleonora of Aragon in 1473, the cards feature the heraldic emblems of the two families. They also bring to light the peaceful and cultured character of Duke Ercole I d'Este, which made Ferrara a high-profile court in Europe. This special edition is limited to 200 decks and was reproduced with the collaboration of Il Meneghello and the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library at Yale University. The set includes a hand made box with the star card added to the cover. Upon opening the package, the exact edition number of the deck will be revealed.
