Rowan Ortins

Rowan Ortins is an illustrator and designer from Montreal. Their work in publishing includes illustrated picture books, children’s novels, a coloring book and the new Folklore Tarot.

After three years of working as an in-house designer for a fabric company, Rowan often incorporates patterns into their illustrations. They enjoy the challenge of using limited color palettes to design cohesive collections of artwork.

Rowan often pulls inspiration from the beauty of the natural world as well as stories of the mystical, magical and mythological. With their folk art-inspired illustrations, they aim to create intricate worlds that viewers can explore.

When they're not creating, they like to spend time reading, listening to science podcasts, and wandering through nature parks.
