The Etteilla Tarot Deck was originally created in 18th century Paris by Jean-Baptiste Alliette, using the pseudonym "Etteilla". Alliette was a French occultist who popularized tarot divination to a wide audience, and is considered the first professional tarot occultist to make a living through card divination. He also published the first known tarot deck specifically designed for use in occult practices, featuring 78 cards with correspondences to astrology, the four classical elements, and the four humors. This deck includes 22 major arcana and 56 minor arcana (with French names), as well as a two-piece box and a guide booklet.
